MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: - Driver/SOR Checker

To effectively control and manage the company’s existing SOR stock rooms located at some of our customer sites. Responsible for ensuring that the correct levels of stock are in place to enable our customer to have immediate access to our products and that stock levels are in line with contractual agreements.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Ensure all SOR stock rooms are effectively laid out and workable to customers’ particular requirements and company standards.
  • Develop close working relationships with on-site customer contact to identify and react to potential SOR shortfalls or additional requirements.
  • Box, label and bin locate all maintained SOR stockrooms to company standards.
  • Obtain signed SOR loan agreements for all maintained SOR stockrooms – both at initial implementation and also following any stock level amendments in line with agreed company processes.
  • Ensure copies of SOR stock levels agreements are given to the customer and the original document to be kept at relevant EMS branch. 
  • Diarise and complete prescheduled SOR stock checks in line with internal branch requirements and customer service level agreements utilising existing Branch process.
  • Liaise between Customer and EMS as required to ensure effective communication of any ongoing and potential customer issues or opportunities to increase sales.
  • Act on any EMS directive regarding potential SOR amendments to be discussed with the customer and implemented by Branch, e.g., supercession of parts or parts that are no longer available.
  • Any other duties reasonable requested by the Branch Manager or EMS management team that ensures the smooth operation of business requirements.

KEY SPECIALIST SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:-

  • Previous experience and knowledge of both truck & trailer parts, desirable.
  • Excellent customer service experience.
  • Must be able to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate a friendly and courteous manner towards both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work within a team, on an individual basis and work under pressure.
  • A positive flexible attitude.
  • Great organisational skills.
  • A critical thinker.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.

  • Full U.K. driving licence.
